In Year 3 we have two teachers: Miss Thomas teaches on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Wright teaches on Thursdays and Fridays. Our teaching assistant is the very helpful Mrs Toohill.

Miss Thomas has a particular interest in English and history and really enjoys teaching Topic where children learn about the world and its continents and oceans and the Greeks and Egyptians among other things. Miss Thomas is also the school ICT co-ordinator. Mrs Wright loves teaching year 3 science particularly Forces and Magnets, along with learning all about fossils (including an exciting trip to Lyme Regis Fossil Festival in the summer term!). Mrs Wright is the RE co-ordinator at St. Catherine’s. We are a friendly team and our class catchphrase is “Learn and Enjoy every day”

Refugee Talk - Year 3 had a visitor who told them the story of one refugee family. Mrs Guppy read the children a story and the children wore their pyjamas for children in need.

Fr Richard - Fr Richard came in to talk to Year 3

Rememberence Day - On Remembrance Day, we had a visitor from The Royal British Legion who came to talk to us about why we remember all who have died in wars on this particular day.  He read from Flanders Fields and we sang we will remember. It was very moving.

Maths Resources provided by the Parish - The parish has generously paid for new maths textbooks and resources for us. The place value counters have been great to help us with our column addition and subtraction in year 3.
