Kenway Cup - Game 2
St. Catherine's travelled to St. Mary's Primary School for their second game in the Kenway Cup. They started well but had to play patiently to try and unlock the solid St. Mary's defence. At the other end, Jack, Zak and George had to stay alert to clear the ball when it came there way. Alfie P was in the right place at the right time to poke the ball home and see St. Catherine's into the half time break with a 1-0 lead. St. Catherine's saw off some good attacking football from the home team after half time and were rewarded for their patience with a long range strike from Alfie P to double the lead. Further goals from Jonny, Callum and Zachary saw a 5-0 win and 3 points for St. Catherine's.
Kenway Cup - Game 1
Our school football team travelled to Burton Bradstock Primary School to play the first game of their Kenway Cup campaign. The game started well with chances falling to both sides before Burton Bradstock took the lead when their striker poked the ball into the net under pressure from Jack in defence. St. Catherine's went on the attack and some good work down the wing from Alfie R lead to Alfie P turning the ball into the net to level the score. St. Catherine's took the lead just before half time with a spectacular effort from Alfie R which lobbed the keeper into the top corner. Burton Bradstock started well after half time and levelled the scores at 2-2. St. Catherine's kept on pushing and had chances to win, however the oppsotion goal keeper was just to good and they were unable to score past him. A 2-2 drew was a fair result for an evenly match game.
