Safeguarding

At this school we are committed to keeping everyone safe. Our first priority is your child’s welfare and we will usually discuss with you any concerns we have about your child. There might be rare occasions, however, when we have to provide information to or consult with other agencies such as Children’s Social Care before we contact you. This will include situations where we judge that to tell you first will or might put your child at risk of significant harm. Our responsibilities are set out in our Child Protection Policy (below). It reflects statutory guidance and the Inter-Agency Safeguarding Procedures, which can be found on the Dorset Safeguarding Children Board website.

If you have any questions about this please speak to either the Designated Safeguarding Lead: Paula Fearn or Deputy Safeguarding Officers: Jo Bourne and Kate Middleton. Our Safeguarding Governor is Helen Brown.

NSPCC Pantosaurus

The NSPCC have launched a new resource on keeping children safe from sexual abuse. They have produced a really child friendly, cartoon video about a dinosaur wearing pants! It lasts approximately 2 minutes and has a catchy song, with the lyrics of the key messages. Viewing this film with your child makes it an easy way to have that important conversation about a difficult topic. We believe that it is better for you, as parents, to watch this clip with your child at home. This is so your child can speak to you on a one to one basis with any questions they may have.

The clip and further information can be viewed on the following link.
